My old and ripped Roadrunner movies are probably THE ONLY cartoons I can
view with the 525's. That's because they are ripped at such a low level
it's ridiculous. And the computer running the big router that I planned to
replace with one of these is still much faster than any of the 525's I have
now - and that computer is not to be considered fast. I installed one to my
wife's office as a writers desk, it wasn't even useful for that. So they
ended up in the basement as backup and file servers controlling a few disk
cabinets. That, they do very well without bugging me.

When I bought them there was a long debate about their performance here at
the list. With a few tweaks suggested from others I could get them running
the thread test at 7000 for a short period of time and all of a sudden
everything jumped up to a good 26 000, at its best I got one test run to
stay at 15 000 without stressing it too much.
After that I ran all the graphics on another computer and had it running
pretty good (John's suggestion? don't remember). By then I was pretty tired
of them and I left the idea of using them in the workshop.

It seems there are good and bad versions of the 525.
