Compiling LinuxCNC is not a problem, the hard part is installing all the
required dependencies.  You can probably just install the package list
from my Debian build and you should be able to build without issue:

I'm not sure, but LinuxCNC runs just fine under Ubuntu.  Any version
from RCN's builds that can work with a 3.8 kernel should work fine with
the xenomai patched 3.8.13 real-time kernel and LinuxCNC.
