And yes I've used it before and have had to fudge things to get the desired size. Apparently, only when the stepover is small enough to force the spiral, does it work correctly.
And a straight plunge cut with a 2 spiral flute flat faced end mill isn't so easy on the mill, so I usually use a drill bit. I'll do that here too. One of the guys on the python list looked at it last night and said you had a mixture of both spaces and tabs for the python control indentation. That can do an excellent job of hiding bugs. Advised getting rid of the tabs completely. For this, I'll need a pilot hole of about 9mm all the way thru so thats the first operation, drilling that, probably in 2 passes.
