To merge the 7i43 and 7i90 drivers we'd need a way to probe the EPP port and ask the board there which kind it is, so we know how many IO connectors it has, and which FPGA. We could start by hoping there's a configured board there and try to read the IDROM. If that works we're done. If we dont succeed at reading the IDROM i guess we would assume it's a 7i43 without a firmware loaded.
