I would not be able to give you an answer on the reason.
One thing to keep in mind is that when changing temperature (some people need 
to print their first layer at a different temperature than the rest) it's not 
allowed to just "stop and wait" until the temp has been reached. It will leave 
a mark on the product and if the nozzle is removed to prevent that it will 
leak, result being less material when printing continues.
So after the first layer, a new temp is set without stopping the movement.

Is above possible (changing spindle speed without stopping the movement)?
