Hello everybody,

I was reading some old thread (from year 2009) about the LinuxCNC and RTnet
synchronization

http://ehc.ac/p/rtnet/mailman/message/24196500/

and i was wondering if anybody succeeded with this?

I am just starting to to read about the RTAI and if I understand this correctly
both, rtnet and linuxcnc use rt_timer in periodic_mode. Is there a way to
somehow bind those two together? Is there a way to change the LinuxCNC to
run/respond on some external clock/triger (sync frame), as suggested by Jan in
the thread i pasted in a link above.

I also noticed the LinuxCNC uses rtai_sched.ko scheduler and RTnet uses
rtai_lxrt.ko scheduler which can not be loaded at the same time. Can this be
unified? I read that the rtai_sched includes all functionality within
rtai_lxrt. I tred to set up the RTnet beside the running LinuxCNC - i loaded
all the missing modules, but when i tried to set the "rtifconfig rteth0 up" the
machine yust froze. I had to use the hard reset.

Any advise would be appreciated,

Best Regards
Klemen
