Been lurking for years, but last year I found a craigslist deal I couldn’t refuse. G8689 (X2) Mill and HF 7x10 lathe with a ton of extras for too little to pass up. Now a year later, I’ve saved up enough to CNC the mill. Currently, I plan to buy the below. I have a PC that works well and could probably soft step, but for the price of the Mesa cards, I don’t think it’s worth the hassel.
7I76-5I25 PNG Mesa Cards $199.00 Mini-Mill CNC kit #2 - with X-Y-Z BALLSCREWS $579.00 I’m still undecided on the motor / drives. Below is what I am leaning toward, but if anyone has any experience or recommendations, I’m all ears. 3-Axis NEMA23 CNC Kit (36V/9.7A/270 oz-in/KL-4030) $377.24 http://www.automationtechnologiesinc.com/products-page/stepper-nema23-3-axis-kits/cnc-stepper-motor-3-axis-kit-3 Do I need the C10 breakout with the 7i76? Besides limit switchs, any other things I should be gettting for a decent start? Thanks in advance for advice.
