That GUI was originally written for Sherline and contributed to LinuxCNC, back in the pre-1.0 days AKA dark ages. Its major author may have been Ray Henry. Apparently it still works with reasonbly-current LinuxCNC, something that we might attribute to the stability (not to say near-immutability) of NML as an API for linuxcnc user interfaces.
