I second that. Cling Film also works as a cheaper disposable covering, but does not exclude chips quite as well as a zippable bag (nor is it as tough). You could "pot" the magnets in a plastic or resin, or put them in a thin turned sleeve with a lid. I use half a dozen of these 7mm diameter for all sorts of things in the workshop, like instant paper chip shields. But I've never used them for holding work. Good idea, though. Let us know how you get on, please. Oh yes; and I have one of those large "swarf pick-up" magnets inside an aluminium can, with a handle to lift the magnet up to drop the chips off. I wrap that inside a plastic bag as well, and it makes (ferrous) cleaning a very quick job.
