Hi All
I finely got my lathe working and by the third part the spindle bearings
start to seize. Its a brand new BVC25A belt driven lathe. I managed to
pack some grease in the back bearing when I first started with the build
but there is no way to get to the front bearing.
Does anyone know how to remove the spindle shaft in order to look at
what they did with the bearings. I have a feeling the Chinese builder
did not fit thrust bearings anywhere.
I tried the mallet but nothing moved. I dont want to strip the head
stock off if I dont have to as I have a lot of wires, switches and
encoders permanently mounted.
