My math is ditzy. And I have two sizes I need, some 1/2" square for the
base rails, but I thought that was artistically a little big, so the ends
and sides got shrunk to about .375 square, both with the rounded corners
of the 1/8" bit as it made the 90 at each corner.

So I need a dozen 1/2"ers, and 36 3/8"ers. Which I can do out of one
thin slab. And of course some spares of both JIC.

That hadn't crossed my alleged mind either. But I just discovered that
solid carbide bits do bend under stress considerably. Using the same
code to make a holder jig out of micarta, I had to expand the sw a thou,
and still run it 4 or 5 times to get a pocket in the micarta that matched
what it had carved in the Mahogany and its still about a thou small.

So, as I cut the buttons out, I am going to have to go small on the depth
increment, and slow on the feedrate else it will wander quite a bit when
the last .250" of the mill is only a 0.03125" diameter. Gonna be slow
IOW. And checking my router bit supply, a 1/4" roundover is the smallest
I'd be willing to sacrifice the nose of. I have a dull single flute 1/4"
el-cheapo and some diamond coated burrs, so I might even try making it.
But my feet are complaining, so thats tomorrow.

Gotta go figure out where I am going to find dinner with wheels on it.
Its about din-din time for both of us. ;) I left the missus thinking
about it as I came buy. See rule #2 of course...

Cheers, Gene Heskett
