I am just not clever enough to understand the Hostmot2 stuff but I would prefer to use the Hostmot driver. I dont think the Arduino is fast enough for the realtime Ethernet comms. > I have been looking on the arduino boards to connect simple IO, at first > 24 volt for axis breaks and end switches but there are also signals. If you use some opto couplers with arduino you could use 24v > The Hostmot mesa 2 use UDP, what does the arduino board use? I use very simple UDP. Very short and precise messages that just contain what is needed. Nothing fancy.
