In reference to the Parker OEM750's that were recently discussed. Parker Compumotor had put out a catalog with a really good overview on motion control. It talks about stepper and servo technology, also encoders and tachs. It doesn't go into the nitty gritty electrical engineering details, but goes into basic overviews of the technology. Also, talks about h-bridges and unipolar and bipolar control.
The first link has links to all the PDF's, the second link below is found at the first link and is the entire engineering section. http://www.compumotor.com/catalog_eng_ref.htm http://www.compumotor.com/catalog/catalogA/SectionA.pdf I thought this would be useful for some people when asking questions regarding servo's and steppers. Obviously, there's people in this mailing list that could write that section, but I think there's others that it will help.
