No, that usually indicates a power supply or connection problem

Also possibly the thread rate is too fast, the D2700 is not a very good 
hm2_eth host and like the D525 is  marginal even with RTAI and a 1 KHz servo 
thread. you can see this by plotting the read times on a D2700 or D525 and 
moving the mouse

dont forget the ethtool command if you have a intel MAC
