You put your reply under the sig separator Todd, so its stripped in this reply. Copy/pasted back in: >Cub Cadet??? MDT bought up the name when IH went under 30+ odd years >ago, and I don't think MDT has ever built anything worth buying. MTD? We are in violent agreement, I am finally trashing a $750 rear tine tiller that locked up its gear shifter when it was only 3 years old. Saved the Honda motor and tines in case someone needs them, and of course the extension axle kits I made and the HUGE, big lug tires that are still essentially new. I went out to see if I buy another that did not use a copy of that style of gearshift and except for the really top end Troy built with its worm drive with the poor shaft seal that it takes several quarts of 90W gear oil a plowing session, all the sub $1000 models are just like it. Junk IOW. I was going by the fact that a friend on mine has a 1961 Cub Cadet Rider that IH tried to buy back from him many years ago, for their museum I guess. It truely is ancient, was built well, and when he needs parts they were being shipped no-charge back then. It was serial number 2 or something like that. Last I knew it was still going as he was towing bushel sized rocks around on his place to define the driveway with it.
