Gladevcp will not use gtk3 for the foreseeable future.
GTK3 broke lots of libraries and not all of them have converted.
I have done some work on the conversion but it will require a rewrite
of the 'gremlin' widget that plots the screen - which is outside my expertise.

Gladevcp panels will be displayable for years, editing them will become more of
a pain if we can't continue to forward port the Glade-gtk2 editor.
So far Ubuntu has done this, so we have used their packages.
So for 2.7 and surely 2.8 Glade-gtk2 is the way to edit panels.

(you can also always edit them in a older distribution and copy to a newer)

Gladevcp is far more powerful then pyvcp, but either is fine to use.
