Chuckle & VBG. I am equally sure that the 0-80's I had to buy 100 each
of to get the two that attach the cocking puller handle in my 50 cal BP
rifle, will likely outlast me by a century or 2. The 0-80 hardened hex
head allen screws have in fact come in handy, I put a row of them around
the end of one of the nutholders I had to make in order to use those
teeny 13" long 8 or 9mm ball screws Stewart sold me 3 of a couple years
ago now. Didn't have room for the screw-in plug that takes up the axial
play on the other axis, and squeezes the felt so it wipes the screws
clean much like the felt seals in the more usual sized ball screws. It
seems to be working quite well after one false start caused by the felt
collapsing, discovered by writing code to make square ebony pillow screw
hiding plugs that were visibly NOT square. so I had to take it back
apart and skim another .15mm off the mating face.

The micromill was never intended to have enough room under the table for
ball screws. I made them work anyway, so I'm just a tad proud of
that. ;-)

Cheers, Gene Heskett
