Greetings; Got that machine down off the shelf yesterday and after a lot of putzing around, finally fished a piece of cat5 to where its going to be.
I think that one had hardy heron on it, pretty old, the LCNC menu's all say EMC. Fired off l;atency test from the menu a couple times, no response, called up a shell and got a no perms to load rtai. Scuse me? So I sudo'd it, still no luck biut this time it couldn't find shared memory, claiming it need 20+ gigabytes of ram? ?? So I went to the shop & retrieved the dvd I had used to install those 2 atom boxes & rebooted. Seeing memtest on the menu, I started that and wil let it run a cycle, maybe 2. But, this does bring up a question? Am I wasting my time trying to install on an Athlon single core with only 384 megs of dram? Thanks.
