I was premature, and hadn't realized you were looking at it at the 5i25's
output. With a halmeter on p3-pin13 IIRC, you should be able to see it
as you roll the spindle by hand. The P3-13 is of course the pin my
prob-rfx2 uses, your 7i77 might have it someplace else.

Better yet, a fast analog scope on the BoB input might be worth looking
at. Fast being anything north of 20 mhz.

Also, I had forgotten about the spindle-at-speed signal which can also be
a problem if I forget to switch the spindle input scale according to the
current backgear position.

But I am like everyone else, why the heck is it switching to the G17
mode? That would seem to me to have to be fixed first, then the rest of
this checked.

One nasty thought thats lurking in the back of my mind is the editor you
are using to write the gcode, if its not in uft-8 mode, is there a
possibilty it has added some 16 or 32 bit characters it is not showing
you? Admittedly thats a far stretch, but failing other ways to check
it, it does come to mind. I like geany, but its capable of handling
more than plain old 7 bit ascii text too with the right settings.

So I apologize for jumping the gun with that comment, Marius, it was out
of line and not consistent with what you wrote about your checking.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
