I think the F1 version of the J1900 bios was rough, but the boards I 
have came with F2 and I updated them to F3 and have not had any issues.
The F1 version required a dos boot to reflash it to F2 but the boards 
would not support USB Linux with F1 so that was a problem.
If I received an F1 version I would return it.  Life's too short.

The F2 version supported USB with Linux.

The Gigabyte boards are too good to ignore.    Yes, they need a lesson 
in writing a bios, but there are a lot worse boards out there unfortunately.

I used Rufus to make a bootable stick drive and then copied the flash 
utility onto that.   It was a painless upgrade from F2 to F3.
