Greetings; Running 2.8.0-pre kept uptodate daily on the machine boxes, but a 2.7.0-pre6 sim build on this machine.
Early this AM I was trying to work on that gcode and found two problems that made it difficult. 1. While I can load an .ngc file from that machine into the simulator running on this machine, it doesn't remember the full, nfs path to the file for a reload when I want to try out an edited version that lives only on the remote machine. Would it help if I edited the sims .ini file here to use the nfs share path to NC_FILES? I'll try it just for S&G. Not remembering the full path seems like a bug to me. There is a file by that name on this machine, and that is the one it will reload. Very confusing. 2. An ssh -Y session into that (GO704.coyote.den) machine, where I can run other gui driven stuff just fine, will not allow me to run a "linuxcnc -l" session by exporting the display here. Except that it just now made a liar out of me and ran. Previously on several occasions I have received a BACKGROUND (or FOREGROUND) color miss-matched or undefined and it bails out. The only diff that I know of is that the 1 gigabyte of 266Mhz fsb ram was replaced with 2 gigabytes of 400Mhz fsb ram, and it was of course rebooted several times. A confused nilmerg? Or did the doubling of available memory actually fix something? Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
