I should keep that in mind, Marlin has always treated me well. In my
first life as a broadcast engineer, Marlin bailed me out of $4,000
problems on several occasions by having at a reasonable price, the big
cement block sized PSU's for a digital effects unit, and for a Grass
Valley Group production video switcher. I needed a 200 amp 5 volter,
and he sold me a Pioneer plenty big enough for $750. Another time a
year later I needed a triple output in the same form factor, and got it
from him at the same price.

If I never see another of those big HP power supplies, it will be too
soon. The high eficiency ferrites used in their transformers have a
curie temperature well below the boiling point of water, cool enough
there is no paint discoloration when they have gone austenitic forever.
Damnedably hard to troubleshoot such an unusual failure.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
