2 speed, spur gear driven spindle. Any faster would demand much better bearings in it too. Even my intermittent running today was enough to keep the quill housing warm enough to get your attention. Maybe this is a good excuse to get one of those Chinese gizmo's from fleabay? But the last time I mentioned that, you folks said the runout was pretty bad, so I held off.
