As a broadcaster, if we wanted a dead room, we lined it with sonotex. Grey open cell foam that looks like it was molded in an egg carton. Next best thing to an anechoic chamber. But like the built chamber, bring wagon loads of money as each 2'x2'x2" piece is or was, about $70 when we built the last announce booth about 15 years back.
