Well, the PLM 2000 is Bob's cousin Eddie with an Animatics CD5306M
Version 3.5M RS232C connected servo controller for which I can find no
technical info and Animatic's response to inquiry was pretty much "Duh,
we dunno." Another one of those company merger things where all the old
product info got trashed, dammit.

It does have a terminal mode, but I've just a very limited amount of
info on commands, just for a torque setting that needed to be altered on
a specific serial number range, of which this machine was one.

I'm half tempted to take the box out to send to someone who could dump
the firmware to examine then send the box back in the same functional
condition.

Far as I can tell from the manual, there is no F in Way this hardware is
capable of on the fly axis reversal to do mirror imaging, thus the need
for an easy/fast way to pre-process the files to create mirror copies to
feed to it.

There was apparently a version of the PLM 2000 with a controller made by
Fanuc, 99.9% compatible with the Animatics except for a couple of
G-codes using different numbers as noted in the manual. But of course
there is no information as to model number etc to identify *which* Fanuc
controller model.

I just Googled Animatics CD5306M and the only hits I get are *my*
inquiries (without useful or any answers) about it. I hate it when I'm
the only source of info on the web about an item I know nothing about.
:P Yes, that has been an occurrence more than a few times since April
4th, 1996.
