In an ideal world, my impression is that a pncconf file was an XML 
description of all parameters, and that pncconf could update a 
configuration.  I should know better;  I can already think of at least 
three reasons that wouldn't work and pncconf would have to be at least 
an order of magnitude more complicated to accommodate.

I'm not certain what got stomped on when I tried to update, but simply 
creating a new configuration and re-entering everything from my notes 
has the desired result.
