Which is exactly what I did in essence: I copied the whole /usr/lib/firefox-esr tree to /usr/lib/iceweasel then I made a couple softlinks in that directory: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 Jun 15 11:50 iceweasel -> /usr/lib/iceweasel/firefox-esr lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 Jun 15 11:49 iceweasel-bin -> /usr/lib/iceweasel/firefox-bin Now the help works but I'm tempted to edit the links to point back to the firefox-esr stuff so it will be kept up 2 date. OTOH, that might be kicking a sleeping dog. The first gtksourceview-2 problem remains. Thanks all.
