It is going to vary from motor to motor and drive to drive. Some of the drives I have messed about with can have a huge array of settings and variables to get everything set right for your particular motor. I recently found out that about a dozen drives we have were never properly configured by the machine builder for the spindles they were running (all default settings). After I reset the drives, to where they should have been, I noticed a huge increase in motor torque. Cuts that used to stall the motors, now don't even noticeably slow them. It also made a big difference in the rate of the motors accel/deccel times and the current drawn under loads. (I think I ended up adjusting a dozen or more parameters, and looked at a lot more than that.)
