Thats proclivity extends only to that which is otherwise made out of pure unobtainium. But thats almost exactly what I just bought 4 of for $12 including epacket from Hong Kong. But these don't stick out of a usb port, they socket on the B end of usb printer cable, so I can stick it on the side of the inverter or even under the removable cover. The 485 wiring can then be 6" to a foot long in twisted pair with the mylar shielding, commonly used for balanced audio in 5k foot spools in a tv or radio station. Fairly quick and cheap since I never throw away a printer cable when the printer goes out. I'm a founding member of the packrat club. :) Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
