Greetings all; I just excised the big screw, all the gears and gearboxes that drive it, the OEM apron and anything else that got in the way of putting the 2505x1450mm ball screw I just bought on it.
This is something north of 100lbs of stuff. And I need it to find a new home as I hung it on a storage shelf kit a few inches above the garage door trackage just to get it out of my way. If I was to put it on the Sheldon list of that Sheldon forum, whats a fair price considering its 100% pure unobtainium these days? Except for the clutch in the apron needing more than hand tightened to render it non-slip, everything works. No missing teeth in the gear changer or anything else other than the clutch can be made to slip if not "firmly" engaged. Someone familiar with sheldon stuff can probably adjust that in 2 minutes. The half nut looks bad, but has been remade and its tight as far as backlash goes. It will take a box about 8x10x62 or so to crate it all up. By then, perhaps 125lbs. And I think thats too long for UPS, so truck freight I expect, over and above the agreed on price. Comments anybody?
