I quit school in the middle of my freshman year of high school because of a medical problem that when finally found, was a food allergy, to milk of all things. But by then I had been making a living fixing tv's & related stuff for several years.
The "WOWElectronics" is an allusion to the fact that I have been accused more than once of having webbed feet because I obviously could Walk On Water electronically. But now thats fading, dammit. I retired in 2002 at 66.5 yo, and haven't done electronics troubleshooting on a daily basis since, so its getting rusty. Too many years on the wet ram. It will be 82 in less than a month. > http://cnc4pc.com/hardware/replacement-chips/c1g/set-of-buffers-and-op >toisolators-for-the-c1g-board-rev-3.html > > says they are buffers and optoisolators. My failed board has 3 74act245 octal buffers, a 74act00 and a 74act04 on it, 5 chips. Thats the last one I bought and I believe the first one may be different. Its been in the toy mill's driver box for nearly a decade. And even if I can't see the leds, it just works for 4 axis's, a probe and some limit switches. I've talked to Arturo Duncan on the phone with less than spectacular results, I don't think this stuff is his own design as he didn't impress me with his knowledge of the internal workings. Questioned about a schematic so that I could trace things with a scope, he didn't have any for any of his "products". TBT I came away with the impression I had just talked to a stock clerk. As for the C1G, I fail to understand why it has been disco'd, apparently in favor of even higher priced stuff seemingly aimed at the Mach market. In self-defence I bought a 100 foot roll of 26 conductotr ribbon so I can make my own cables. I'd better go get some coffee under construction and see if the missus needs something. COPD is relentless and I suspect I'll be alone before another year is done. Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
