I like most of the suggestions except the MDF because it tends to wear out cutters. I ordered a small amount of machinable wax, it will be here tomorrow, but I am in a hurry so I will try the bolt and nut approach today. If that works I will test on a small chunk of delrin, if that goes well I will tackle the aluminum.
