So I did, since I needed some other stuff like their curved 3.5" Hemostats and such (static straps) anyway. And I bought a 33025-MP, which is 4 IR obstacle detectors, each on a short cable, up to a foot or so from the parent pcb, which has pots for triggering level per each detector, and I am going to see if I can reliably detect the belt position so it can know what "gear" its in. 6 wires and a bunch of hal stuff might tell me via some on screen leds if the speed I asked for is a comfortable one for the motor and gear its in. That old saw about beggars and horses comes to mind right about now. :) Wish me luck on making that work.
