Gene, guess I'm kinda late here, but I paint just about every bit of iron I
can get my hands on with Valspar Tractor and Implement Enamel, its great
stuff but comes in limited colors. However, it is possible to mix the
various stock colors to get just about any color imaginably. Its pretty
cheap stuff and I buy it by the case from Tractor Supply and keep several
gallons of "theme" colors mixed up for repainting my Chinese junk as it
comes in.
I use it with the hardener and dilute it with "stinky" naphtha before
spraying it. It goes on real nice and is the only paint I have found that
laughs off hot chips and cutting oil. Rustoleum is like milk paint in
comparison.

Re: plugging holes. I use that cheap foamy rope calk stuff you jamb under
the doors on a cold night (I do that at least). It comes in several
diameters from about .25 to .75 and the rolls I get are 90ft so they last
me a few years at least. I have also used it in place of silicone plugs
when powder coating. It works but stinks up the oven (not to mention the
house!) when I bake the parts.

Regards,
Kurt
