Hi,

The centroid is a more extravagant version of what I have here:

http://xylotex.netfirms.com/OSCommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=114

which is $39.00 (no BBB included)

A BB Black simply plugs on to the Xylotex BBX (upside down) and provides
a standard parallel port type connection (8 pins for four step/dir
pairs, four inputs and 3 outputs on one of the DB25's as well as 1
input/output pair for stop input), and raw extensions of some of the
other available pins on the BBB bus on the second DB25 that are easily
routed to a general purpose BOB like the one here:

http://xylotex.netfirms.com/OSCommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=112

I'm also in the process of making a completed 'box' here:

http://xylotex.netfirms.com/OSCommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=115

that I hope to have out in early April (the box works fine, I just have
to do some documentation work which I hate).

As far as machine control software, it runs the MachineKit version of
LinuxCNC.
