One caveat Jon, be sure the cap you are about to probe has been discharged. This includes elderly caps that will often have a considerable amount of dielectric absorbsion, and will self recharge in a fraction of a second after the short has been removed. One of the reasons I bought two as a peon to my fading short term memory. :) I do not know the self-destruction voltage, but I have seen the warnings about it already. :) Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
