I sent the seller a msg asking for the bore size of the coupling 3 days
ago, but haven't rx'd an answer. Likely won't. What I can look up on
the Omron site says its either a 6mm, an 8mm or blank, bore to suit.
I've made it at about 8mm's now, but since the encoder shaft is 6mm,
will trim it down to 6 and finish the cutoff. I've expanded the center
bore in the end of the shaft by another 20 thou, and have made the butt
of this extension with a bit of a nipple to seat and center in that,
then relieved the rest of the base out to around 1/2" leaving a proud
rim so it will seat well on the rim. And I've drilled and tapped the
center in the motor shaft for a 3mm.5 bolt, with a small clearance hole
is bored thru the extension. I've got more brass in case I have to make
it a different size. But it gives me something to do while I twiddle my
thumbs waiting the next 2 weeks for the encoder to arrive. :) First
cuts with the 8" 4 jaw. Sweet!
