1000 line encoder, but that shouldn't matter if its index is not used.
The figures quoted above are the rawcounts recorded per full turn of the
spindle. The output of the sum2 used as a subtractor were 100x that
because I had 100 turns difference in the comp trip points.

So as to wear more equally by polishing away the machine marks on the
tooth thats 2 microns wider than the rest. :) If a given gear advances
one tooth per revolution against its mateing gear, then that wide tooth
will wear to equality long before its worn out.

And rather than spending all that time ripping out the opto's, I just
ordered 2 of those SainSmart boards I posted the link to from amazon.
s/b here Monday. 2 of them is still less sheckles than a single 7i75.

The main problem I think is that the offset of the db25 connector is
reversed so I'll have to move one end of the dsub cutout in the box. NBD
other than cleaning up the debris. Wish I had a greenlee punch for that
though. :( OTOH, gives my legs time to heal, diabetes starves the
muscles and I had a hell of a time with leg cramps last night. I'll find
out today, if the psu for the nema 23 motors can feed another
driver/motor yet today, and if it can, get the A axis wired up and
working.

But first, go feed Dee some lunch.

Thanks Andy.
