Greetings all;

Working on the camera/machine interface.

I find that to put some info into an underlining led to change its color
(3 colors would be nice, stuck with 2 unless I can add a 2nd halpin to
an led in the xml), to be used by the initial machine movement to put
the camera at what will be the tool location when that function is
exited, the var must exist at the time the postgui.hal is parsed to hook
it up to the led, the var must exist else lcnc exits with the famous no
such pin error. I am trying to use motion.digital-in-nn and
motion.digital-out-nn for the linkage, doesn't fail, but also is not
being conveyed thru motion. So apparently I don't understand how to use
those 4 signals. The setp works, but it doesn't come back out, or is
that dependent on its being homed? Or should I be using m64 p0 and m65
p0 for that control, using the immediate versions of that? But that
doesn't work, can't run it from the mdi command line w/o homing it
first.

So how is the best way to pre-post-gui create or control this variable or
signal name?

What I have found that might work is to scatter "sets led# true or
false", but there must not be another writer to that signal. So I may be
able to do it that way, and make use of it in the postgui hal and xml
file.

Is there a better way?

Thanks all.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
