I won't say its bullet-proof, but in over a decade of using them, every one I've bought is still doing its job. 11 of them IIRC.

Particularly since theres no mention of a heat sink. I personally think Jim's board is a good design, for nema 17 and smaller motors, but its a balancing act between its overheating at voltages below 24, and its 35 volt or so self destruct. This one may be better, but just interfacing to a bunch of them looks to be expensive ATM.
