Sorry to interrupt, but I just had to get this off my chest. Here in sunny
SA, this is what I saw at the scrapyard on Friday. This was.... a Leadwell
CNC lathe

I have a feeling the company 'stripped' it so that they could get a better
'steel' price, rather than a reduced 'mixed metal' price.
So unfortunately all the motors are probably being stripped for copper
somewhere else.

If one wanted to make a cnc lathe, this still has all the mechanical
elements, slides, ballscrews, spindle(smooth)
What a waste, almost criminal.

I could buy it for about $500, but it's a huge 'money out' project.
But, am I being an idiot to not take it, and add it to my already huge list
of projects?
An opportunity like is seen about once in five years.
