A  BeagleBone Black will run MachineKit "off the shelf".  Ha ha.

Actually what the BBB needs is something similar to the Replicape and the Manga 
Touch Screen but running MachineKit for a simple Sherline or other small Mill.  
A display something like a DRO with large characters, a few buttons and menus.  
Then it would be more than fast enough.

Of course by the time I get to that the BBB will be extinct...  8-(
