The target was a package nearly everyone could install. I feel its the effects of wayland replaceing x11 at debian 10. which I feel is a worth-while step considering the video is at least 30x faster, on the pi3's it is close to glacial at 1.7 fps if one copy of glxgears is expanded to full screen. I get, from the normal kernel on an rpi4, about 50 fps under the same full screen conditions.
