But I've just discovered a much bigger problem, a spinbox is way too 
wide, beaucoup white space in the middle and ignores a 
<width>"anynumber"</width> statement inside it, so 2 spinboxes in an 
hbox is stretched to around 100 pixels wide with 90 pixel of white.  
Makes the whole axis right panel about twice as wide as the tach dial.  

How do I fix that?

I could stack them vertically with a vbox wrapper, but thats also a huge 
waste of screen real estate.
