Interesting you should mention that.  I bought a couple of Lenovo Desktops 
(Vista generation)  with two half height slots from the government surplus 
outlet.  I also bought a number of different half height video boards like this

They have the DVI connector on the back and came with a splitter cable with two 
VGA connectors marked 1 and 2.  I suspect they were used on desks with two 
monitors.  All of them, ATI, NVidia, S3 Virge etc. all without exception failed 
the speed test in LinuxCNC. The motherboard video was always faster. 

This surprised me.  I would have thought that an offloaded video processing 
would reduced processor load rather than increased it.
