Greetings and a better new year!

I've seen that toolpost on your lathe in the videos. And finally found
it in a Chinese version on ebay as a kit with 4 holders, which is
probably 15 or 20 too few if one intends to actually use the tooltable,
and fairly pricy at $350 USD.

I'm looking to replace my one side trashed BXA-250 series piston type
post, obviously a no-name since theres none on it, and looking at the
BOSTAR, at a pretty lowball price. Similar in design to an Aloris but
1/3rd the cost for a kit, and tool holders for simple tools are going
for $55 for 3, so one could acquire enough holders that putting the
tooltable to work might become practical.

What advantages do you see in what you have over a basic two sided wedge
which the BOSTAR is?

Is it pinned against rotation? I doubt the BOSTAR is, and it stands to
reason that using the tooltable requires an accurately pinned post.

What disadvantages?

Thanks Andy.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
