Voltage drop? @26AWG has 0.134 ohms per meter. It might matter if you are running 20 meters of cable. As for connectors those "aviation plugs" are good quality and not expensive. They come in 12mm and 16mm diameters (or more accurately with M12 and M16 threads) I've been using M16 for power and M12 size for signals so as to not cross them up. They have threaded locking rings that can be opened/closed with no tools
