I've considered that too. I'll have to see if a suitable bit of tubing 
can be had from TSC the next time I'm out there. I need to measure that 
huge bar that came with the lathe as I mught have to do the same for it.
Or knock the sleeve out.  I haven't actually miked it but it looks like a 
full inch. Haven't bored anything that big yet, just reground the 
spindles MT5 about 6 thou bigger because it was bent.  That, and 
refacing the backing plates so they ran true was fun, but it runs true 
now.

Damn I wish it would rain.  It's missed one day in the last 3 weeks, and 
this wasn't it. :(  Thunderboomers are getting closer as I type.
