The blue Cincinnati at MPM with LinuxCNC had a nameplate electric
requirement of 125 amps @ 480. We measured it frequently for a while after
we first got it. I never saw it draw more than 15 amps. Just because the
plate says it has to have X amount of electric service doesn't mean it will
pull that much while running. The full amount is calculated by adding the
maximum wattage of every electric device on the machine. It will never come
near to drawing that much during use.
