And if you do it right, its way faster at getting the reversal underway. My overshoot from the instant motion issues the reverse, Or fwd, the treatment is the same, with a 40 lb 8" 4 jaw chuck mounted, and turning 100 rpm, is about .24 seconds until the encoder says the new direction is now in effect. And the tach returns to the 100 mark turning the other way in about that same additional time.
